Admissions

The admission process at Haverford is conducted as a comprehensive review in which each application is treated personally and individually, with extraordinary care and attention to detail.

The primary consideration in the evaluation process is academic excellence. Haverford is interested in students who demonstrate ability and interest in achieving at the highest levels of scholarship and service; engaging deeply and substantively with the community; and growing both intellectually and personally. To this end, we consider:

  • secondary school transcript
  • teacher and counselor recommendations;
  • quality of writing as demonstrated in your essays, testing, and recommendations;
  • potential for contribution to the campus community;
  • interview, which is strongly recommended

Haverford gives the greatest weight to your academic transcript. The rigor of the courses you’ve taken, the quality of your grades, and the consistency with which you’ve worked over four years give us the clearest indication of how well you will do at Haverford. Recommendations, the form and content of your writing, your potential for contribution to the campus community, and your interview also help the Admission Committee draw fine distinctions among highly talented applicants.

The motto Our Family vs. Their Team – Everyone supports each other on and off the field, even our alumni network is so vast they come to support us at home games and offer career/internship advice. Anyone who comes through this program becomes a part of a growing family.

-Theresa Haupt '24

Coach Jamie Schneck

Our team is special because our mottos are real and not performative. "Our family vs. their team" is something we pride ourselves in enacting for the entire year. Everyone on the team is supportive of one another in everything we do and we are all genuinely friends with one another, not just during the season. "Competitive together" is extremely important and helps us to to push one another in practices and in the off-season to make each of us better. We are never competing against one another, but working hard together as a unit to ensure that we are all the best we can possibly be and put our team in the best place possible to compete in the Centennial Conference.

I would describe the personality of the team almost like a puzzle. Each piece is unique and stands out on its own, but together it creates a beautiful painting. To me, every single person on the team creates this warm, inclusive environment and works incredibly well with each other

-Lily Buyer '26.

Our team is composed of various personalities, backgrounds, and passions. Instead of dividing us, our differences bring us closer together and open our minds to various walks of life. Our team possesses a passion for soccer and a competitive spirit, yet we also pride ourselves in our close-knit nature.
